Secure Mobility Linux Systems Engineer Expert (SE3)

This opportunity supports an Enterprise IT contract with a team of 60+ engineers responsible for the architecture, engineering, integration, operations, maintenance and sustainment of a world-wide multi-level / multiple-classification Enterprise IT environment enabling collaboration between the agency and customers. This Enterprise architecture serves as a gateway for the deployment of new network, enterprise software, and SIGINT applications into a custom global collaboration environment. Cross-domain security, user access controls, and continuous monitoring are critical to the success of the program.
 

Job Description: 

As Secure Mobility Linux Systems Engineer - Expert (SE3) is responsible for the design, development, testing, configuration, demonstration, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting of the Mobility Engineering systems (Linux and Windows Servers) and the documentation of the secure mobile technology capabilities. Works independently or part of a team on advanced technologies analysis projects. Reviews and tests systems for adherence to requirements and documents test results. Resolve tickets and problem reports on specific technologies and hardware/software components to include COTS/GOTS products from the system level to individual hardware/software components. Recommends new technologies and processes for complex systems. Coordinates system installations and monitors equipment functioning. Identifies system requirements for operations and security, and works with other engineers and staff to develop design and integrate components. 

 

In this role you will: 

  • Be responsible for configuration, installation, and management of Linux and Windows Servers 

  • Participate in technical efforts to facilitate and obtain ATO accreditation of information systems 

  • Implement secure mobile technical solutions that meet the requirements necessary for STE/STN 

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures of the modified architecture, system administration, configuration management, operation and maintenance of the test environment including its components. 

  • Modify, integrate, test and document the following processing and procedures for the following: hardware and software asset management, configuration management, change management, process management and certification test procedures 

  • The ideal candidate has excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, and possesses the following knowledge and experience: 

  • Uses innovative approaches to solve complex problems 

  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, effective communicator, and able to prioritize across multiple assignments 

 

Required Candidate Qualifications: 

  • Active TS/SCI Poly Clearance 

  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline.  Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree, making the total experience requirement twenty-five (25) years 

  • 20 years of experience as a System Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity along with at least one year within the Federal Government is required. 

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading System Engineering efforts is required 

  • The candidate must have a Security + CE certification 

  • Experience with Linux RHEL 7/8 

  • Proficient with Linux scripting and PowerShell scripting 

  • Windows driver development understanding to load OS on virtual clients 

  • Expert knowledge of Windows 10/11 client operating systems 

  • Proficient with client Hypervisors 

  • Understanding of wireless networking is a plus, but not required 

  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, documentation and customer management skills are required
